CHOICES
Creating Hope and Opportunities In Communities and Engaging Solutions
CHOICES Media – Creating Hope and Opportunities In Communities and Engaging Solutions – is a platform for people directly impacted by settler colonialism and criminal punishment systems to tell their own stories. CHOICES is a way for prisoners to share the work we are doing to impact change with the communities we are ultimately coming back to. The CHOICES podcast amplifies voices for a liberated purpose, presenting and archiving issues that impact Indigenous peoples and communities of color on both sides of the walls.
Ralph Dunuan
After surviving more than 26 years of incarceration, Ralph Dunuan is about to take the next steps home through Graduated Re-Entry. While locked up, he has been an inside organizer and member of the Native American Circle: Tribal Sons, the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Awareness Group (APICAG). He is also a board member for the Judicial Second Look Coalition, which aims to give those with life and long sentences a second look, supporting inside/outside advocacy and incarcerated issues for healing and pathways home.
His writing, organizing and podcast focus on promoting peer-led cultural education, exposing the social inequities of incarceration, and changing the draconian sentencing practices of Washington State while continuing to build community on both sides of the walls.
